It jumped out and bit me! Week 1 and 2

Week 1-

I am amazed at how everything is intertwined!

Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, God cursed the ground with thorns, God provided Abraham with a ram caught in the thorns by it's head, and Christ was crucified with a crown of thorns!

Wow! Think about that! Because of Adam and Eve's (our) sin, Jesus paid the ultimate price. Death on the cross to take ours sins away. His head was crowned with the thorns of our sin!!

Week 2-

Now we are looking at the provisions God makes for the Israelites (us).

Moses leads them out of Egypt (bondage) and eventually finds water in Marah after 3 days. But!! The water is bitter and undrinkable! Moses prays and God tells him to put the tree in it. Moses puts the tree in it and the water is turned sweet! Then Jesus bore our sins on His own body on the tree (cross)! Jesus took the bitterness of sin on His body and gave us everlasting life! How awesome is that!?

Pray as I continue this study that God gives more insight as I study more in dept!

Jumped out and bit me!

So I was really trying to write daily on what I was learning in my Beth Moore bible study on "A woman's heart: God's dwelling place". It got very difficult to continue to do that so with God's help I will do a weekly "It jumped out and bit me" report!

Pray with me as I continue this awesome study! I've never done anything like this!

Day 2 "A Perfect Heart"

Man! Can I just say that I pray that I continue to be amazed at what God is showing me through this bible study?!

I have decided not to put my answers. Because I want you to be interested in finding the answers.

2 Chronicles 16:9
Rev. 4:11
Isaiah 43:7
Matthew 6:21

What does Matthew 6:21tell you about God's heart?
What does God measuring His wealth by His children mean to you?

Psalm 8:4-8 records the position of humans in comparison to all other creation. List what was over them and under them.

What is the human heart like apart from fellowship with God?

Genesis 6:1-9

What did God see according to Genesis 6:5?
What was His response in verse 6?
What was His plan of action in verse 7?
How does Genesis 6:8-9 describe Noah?

Joshua 24:15...We must choose this day- and every day- whom we will serve. This deliberate act of the will is the inevitable choice between habitual fellowship and habitual failure!

The study asks us to read Genesis 6:10-9:19 for every reference and phrase containing the work covenant. Here is what I found. Genesis 6:18, 9:9, 9:11, 9:12, 9:13, 9:15, 9:16, and 9:17.

What was Noah's response to God in Genesis 6:22?
What did the rainbow represent?
What parties were involved in the covenant? (Genesis 9:17)

God made a covenant with us. He wants us around! Do we want Him around? Do we study to get closer to Him?

Lord, help me grow in You!

Day 1 "An Empty Garden"

Exodus 25:1-2, 8-9 Why were the Israelites to build the tabernacle? So that He may dwell among them!

He wants to hang out with us! With me! Wow! He wants to hang out with me! That is an awesome thing!

Look at Exodus again. Discover who is involved. Who is talking? The Lord.

Whom is He addressing? Moses

Who is "them" in verse 8? Children of Israel

What is Moses to have them do? Build God a sanctuary

How are they to construct it? According to all that the Lord shows them. By the pattern of the tabernacle.

What 2 names does God call this structure in verses 8-9? Sanctuary and Tabernacle.

Exodus 25:22, 29:42-43, 30:6,36. What is the obvious purpose of the structure? A meeting place

2 Corinthians 5:18 What has God given us? A ministry of reconciliation.

Genesis 1:26-3:24

What was God doing in Genesis 3:8-9? Walking around the garden, dwelling with them, and calling for Adam.

After Adam and Eve told God what happened, God cursed the ground. He cursed the ground with thorns.

I've never thought about this before but that curse come around full course and ended up on the head of Jesus because of our sin. Matthew 27:29.

Drying my eyes! I can't believe that this is my first bible study! I have learned so much and God is really opening my mind to the scriptures and causing my eyes to see!

A Woman's Heart: Introduction

Well, I have started going to my first ever woman's bible study with ladies from my church. I just have to say that I feel like this is going to be an adventure!

This is Beth Moore's "A Woman's Heart: God's dwelling place". I've never done a bible study let alone a Beth Moore bible study. I have read some of her books and am looking forward to seeing what she brings into a study.

We are making a sanctuary for God to dwell in!  The tabernacle, our heart's!

Exodus 25:8-9, And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it.

Exodus 25:40, And see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain.

The phrase 'the pattern shown you on the mountain' "means literally 'which you are caused to see'.

At the end of the introduction we were asked to pray that God would open our minds so we could understand the scriptures (Luke 24:45). And also that He would cause our eyes to see!

Pray that this bible study touches not only my life but all the ladies lives that are involved in this journey!

1st night of Beth Moore's Bible Study "A woman's heart"

I can not wait to dig deep into this bible study! I am excpecting the Lord to change me through this! I want Him to change me! I want a deeper understanding of what Christ wants with me! I want to learn and grow everyday!

Through this I will grow closer to Him and to the women in the bible study group. I strongly believe that we need a strong group of Christian friends who not only proclaim to be Christians, but who strive to live for Him and want a deeper relationship with Him!

Pray with me as I embark on another part of the journey He has set before me!

God's Presence

God was present at High Praises!

"Pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit" is what Chris said to us. We went to the alter as a church. Then he asked "who hasn't been filled with the Holy Spirit"? I raised my hand. He said "start to pray". I started to pray for the Holy Spirit to fill me. I wanted to be filled for several reasons, 1) to acquire a prayer language, 2) to be able to be used of God for Him to speak through me in tongues, and 3) to be used of God to bring my current friends, future friends, and family to Christ.

With eyes closed, hands raised, and a sincere heart I prayed to be filled with the Holy Spirit! Someone grabbed one hand and started praying, someone grabbed my face and started praying, and someone had a hand on my shoulder praying. I started crying uncontrollably, my hands started shaking, and my legs got weak! I wish I could tell you that I started praying with a prayer language. I wish  I could tell you that He spoke through me in another language. None of that happened. What did happen was I felt the heaviness of the Holy Spirit on me so much that I couldn't hold myself up. I ended up on my back, on the floor, praying, and worshiping!

I have never felt what I felt and am a little scared of it, but at the same time amazed that something like that can happen! The last words I heard in my ears from the lady that had my face in her hands was "let it all go".

Christ has taken me, a girl raised in a fundamental Baptist church, to the floor in a mighty way! Thank you Jesus!
